Computer Science / Programming

The OLI Programming Community is a place where CS educators across the globe come together to share their experiences, unpack challenges, and learn from each other. In the past, meeting have covered topics such as using OLI more effectively, unique tools for assessing CS students, and presentations from SPLICE (https://cssplice.github.io/). In the future, we hope this community will drive CS tools requirements for OLI’s next-gen system, and potentially contribute to the growing body of CS Education research.

Torus

The OLI Torus Community is a group of OLI users, researchers, and stakeholders gathered to help identify functionality and workflows that are needed in the next-generation OLI platform, called Torus.  The community will convene in a series of meetings to find out more about developments to date and to suggest requirements for the new system. This community will be a touchpoint for a series of monthly meetings, as well as a place to share demonstrations, documentation, and planning information.

Life Sciences

OLI is targeting our Life Sciences courses for some highly anticipated improvements. We’re currently removing Flash from all variations of Biology (Intro, Modern, and Biochemistry), and bringing new, diverse artwork to our Anatomy and Physiology course. We hope to provide a fresh experience throughout our Life Science catalog, as well as find new approaches and innovative content. Interested in helping us make decisions about future these courses? Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning

The OLI AI/ML Research Community is a growing group of researchers, educators, learning science practitioners, and developers across the globe who are working on using AI/ML methods to generate/refine learning resources like assessments, curriculum reviews, hints and feedback, and much more. The community meets up monthly to share tips and results from their projects and find areas of productive overlap between projects.
